The State Police will be on full alert to guarantee order and security, on the occasion of the end of the year holidays.
For this, the plan of measures has been published, starting from the border crossing points, on the green border, on the road axes and in the residential centers.
In order to guarantee order and security, prevent and fight illegalities, the National Security Forces, the local Police and border directorates, the Special Operational Forces and the Criminal Police are engaged.
In order to guarantee order and public safety during the end-of-year holidays, Christmas, New Year's Eve and the first days of the new year 2024, the State Police has drawn up a detailed plan of measures to ensure the smooth running of the holidays and to prevent criminal and road incidents, since for two days there has been a large influx at all border crossing points to enter Albania.
Additional measures have also been taken to prevent the introduction of pyrotechnic substances into Albania and their illegal use.
The measures taken are aimed at increasing community security parameters throughout the territory, increasing the presence of Police services, preventing criminal events, through full control of the territory by Police structures, control of persons with criminal records, vehicles of them and the premises they frequent, based on informational intelligence, the timely provision of information for the prevention of criminal events, as well as for the capture of persons wanted for criminal events.
To eliminate long queues at the entrance, measures have been taken, counters and human resources have been added at all border crossing points. It is cooperating with counterparts at land points, with the aim of creating legal facilities, avoiding long queues and ensuring uniform movements on both sides of the border.
At the same time, control has been increased both at the border control points and at the green border, in order to prevent and combat cross-border crimes.
Measures have also been taken in the direction of preventing road accidents, increasing monitoring on all road axes, with smart cars, automatic radars and mobile patrols, with non-uniform vehicles, in order to prevent road accidents.
In the meantime, the control of entities that sell fireworks and other pyrotechnics continues, cooperating with the PMNZH and other law-enforcement structures.
For the festive nights of Christmas and the turn of the year, but also during all the days of the end of the year, there will be an increase in the police presence in promenades, pedestrian areas, places of worship and public squares, in all municipalities of the country, to guarantee the smooth running of the celebrations during on Christmas Eve and during New Year's Eve, also cooperating with the respective municipal police.
In addition, the Police structures have planned measures to keep security and order under control, in restaurants, bars and shopping centers, which have a high attendance of citizens.
In order to prevent criminal events, services and patrols have been increased in the vicinity of banks, foreign exchange offices, markets and other facilities where monetary and material values are administered.
The National Security Forces are distributed in ports, airports, crossing points, in large urban centers and on road axes, cooperating with local structures and are fully ready to intervene at any moment, if necessary.
