The famous singer, Selena Gomez, has recently confessed about her mental health in the past, a period which, as she says, would not have passed without the help of the family who stood by her and the specialists. The Disney Channel star spoke at SXSW.
"I'm sick of hearing the things I used to say about myself at the beginning of my career. It annoys me. I think everyone can relate to that feeling. It is important to talk to yourself kindly. But I don't think I realized that at first," she said.
She then explained that when she started dealing with her mental health she realized how difficult it was to go through this period alone.
“There were people who cared about me more than I cared about myself and wanted me to do things I wasn't ready for. I was at my wits end. I wanted to do things at the time I chose", she said.
She also acknowledged that you can't force someone to get treatment if they're not ready to do it themselves.
