Marge Simpson used to justify buying a Chanel suit above the normal price with the idea that it helped the country's economy.
A similar thing has recently taken over TikTok, called "Girls Math".
This new trend seems like a "cure" for girls and women who spend a lot and then regret it.
The "Girls Math" trend was first talked about on the New Zealand radio station "FVHZM" and today it has become a phenomenon all over the world.
How does "girl math" work?
According to "FVHZM" radio hosts Fletch, Vaughan and Hayley, "Girl Maths" works by taking the price of an item of clothing and then dividing it by the number of times it's been worn. So if you bought an expensive dress and used it a few times, you actually didn't spend but you even made a profit.
For example, Hayley's mother bought a silk dress from a designer store in Italy for 1000 euros, but this figure is nothing when it is considered that it could be worn for two weddings. "So it's basically free!" she said.
Also, dresses are 50 percent off, because you only have to wear one outfit, instead of buying a shirt and pants, for example.
Besides, you don't stress by combining two items, so you are also saving mental stress.
