Singer Billie Eilish has declared that she is bisexual on the cover of 'Variety Power of Women', during which she said she was sexually attracted to women.
Asked at her Hitmakers 2023 event if she came out as bisexual, Billie replied:
No, I didn't declare it. Wasn't that obvious? I didn't realize that people didn't know.
Billie said she did not believe in confirming sexual orientation:
"I say, why can't we exist? I've been doing this for a long time and I just haven't talked about it. I saw the article and said, Oh, I think I came out today (as a lesbian). It's exciting for me because I think people didn't know, so it's good that they do."
The singer also expressed her thoughts about women:
"I'm still in awe of them, but I think they're beautiful."
In her interview with 'Variety Power of Women', the singer, who was previously in a relationship with 'The Neighborhood' frontman Jesse Rutherford, said:
"I have deep connections with the women in my life, friends, family. I am physically attracted to them, but I am also very much in awe of their beauty and presence.”
She also said that she "never felt like a woman" or female, although she identifies as "she". Days after the interview was published, Billie reflected on her feelings about her gender identity while speaking on Variety's Power of Women.
"It's really hard to be a woman," she said at the Nov. 16 gala.
"I never really felt like a woman. And I spent a lot of my life not feeling like I was fit to be a woman."
