President Biden has tested positive for COVID-19, the White House confirmed Wednesday, prompting a series of questions about his health and condition.
Biden is currently self-isolating at his home in Delaware after contracting COVID.
"President Biden still has a cough and hoarseness, but his symptoms continue to improve steadily," says Dr. Kevin O'Connor.
"His pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate and temperature remain absolutely normal," O'Connor said in a statement released by the White House, which added: "His oxygen saturation continues to be excellent on air of the room. His lungs remain clear.”
Mr. Biden finished his sixth dose of Paxlovid, the drug linked to lowering the risk of hospitalization or death.
Dr O'Connor also said Mr Biden has a variant of COVID that accounts for about a third of new infections in the US.
