Albania's wrestler, Cermen Valiev, has secured the quarterfinals at the Olympic Games, winning a not so easy duel.
In his first match in freestyle up to 74 kg, Valiev faced an athlete from Azerbaijan, Turan Bayramov, who has been the U-23 World Champion, as well as the runner-up and two-time European bronze medalist.
The latter scored consecutive points and secured a 3-0 advantage over the Russian wrestler representing Albania.
Valiev responded with two points to close the gap and then tied the score at 3-3. As a result, the last point came that gave him the 4-3 victory and passage to the next round where he will face the athlete from Uzbekistan, Jazambek Ramalov, to have a chance for a medal at the Olympic Games.
