Hair is an easy target for the sun's harmful rays, dust and other damaging factors found in the air. Apart from them, during the summer season the hair sweats and gets dirty faster, so naturally the question arises, should the hair be washed often during the summer season?
How many times a week should you wash your hair in the summer?
Experts say that hair and its needs are based on the unique organism of each individual and that criteria for washing hair should be based on three factors.
Sweating
If you are a person who sweats a lot, then you should wash your hair more often, but up to twice a week. If you find it necessary to wash them more often, be sure to use fabric softener. The scalp should be clean and free of bacteria but retain the natural oils it contains.
You can apply the shampoo only to the part of the roots while the softener is applied to its entire length except the roots.
Hair volume
The volume of the hair is also a criterion that must be applied in the dilemma of washing the hair at this time of the year. If you have thick hair and sweat a lot, then you should wash your hair once every two days with a mild shampoo.
Dyed hair should be protected with coconut oil before exposure to the sun and to protect it from sea water.
Thin hair
Thin hair should be washed once every two days and if you are by the sea or swimming pools rinse immediately after swimming. If you have a dry scalp then you can use dry shampoo and a simple rinse with water without the need for a regular shampoo. Dyed yellow or red hair needs regular treatments during the summer to give the hair the missing moisture.
