Meghan Markle arrived late to an unofficial Invictus Games reception and apologized to the crowd for not making it in time for the event's opening.
Accordingly, Prince Harry opened the Invictus Games at the Merkur Spiel-Arena in Düsseldorf on Saturday evening, while his wife was not with him at the opening.
She arrived in Germany on Tuesday around 16:00, where she also gave a speech: "It is a special feeling to be here. Sorry to be late to the party, but I had to make sure our kids were home safe. I landed here a few hours ago and I'm happy," Meghan declared, among other things.
However, not everyone welcomed her speech with enthusiasm and many fans criticized her saying that she "always puts herself first" and they do not believe in the duchess's sincerity.
So the Prince founded the "Invictus Games" in 2014 in London to contribute to the rehabilitation of injured and sick soldiers and veterans from all over the world.
