Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's divorce is hiding more details than fans previously thought. While many believe that Affleck's private nature led to the couple's marital difficulties, foreign media reports that Affleck was the impetus behind the creation of The Greatest Love Story Never Told, a documentary released alongside Lopez's album and film project, This Is Me… Now: A Love Story”.
"The documentary was Ben's idea for his company, Artists Equity," teat a source for People.
"Jennifer's team didn't want to do this as she was focused on the album and the original Amazon video project."
This will probably come as a shock to anyone who saw the documentary, which touches on Bennifer's contrasting views on fame.
“Reuniting, I said, 'Listen, one of the things I don't want is a social media relationship. Then I realized that it is not a fair thing to ask. It's like, you're going to marry a boat captain and you say, "Well, I don't like water."
Lopez noted Affleck's concern in the documentary as well. "I don't think he's very comfortable with me doing all this", she said at the time.
"But he loves me, he knows I'm an artist and he's going to support me in any way he can because he knows he can't stop me from making the music I've made and writing the words I've written. This is going to happen and he doesn't want to stop me."
Another source told People that Affleck was "insistent" on the documentary and was heavily involved in the editing process.
"He was the one in control, more or less", the source said, claiming Affleck's reluctance to be involved in the film "it was a false story".
Based on this, some stories from "The Greatest Love Story Never Told" may be missing.
