Days after a deadly stabbing attack in the nearby town of Solingen that left three people dead, a man accused of stabbing pedestrians in Mers, western Germany, was shot dead by police on Tuesday.
The police were informed that a person had attacked and threatened passers-by with a knife in the city, where they immediately set in motion.
The officers have identified the suspect, a 26-year-old German citizen who tried to attack them with two knives.
The police immediately shot at him. The 26-year-old changed his life in the country. No one else was hurt.
