One man is dead and six others are missing after a sailing yacht capsized off the coast of Sicily in the early hours of Monday, Italy's fire and rescue service said.
The 56-meter (183 ft) yacht was flying a British flag and Britons are among the missing, Italian media reported.
The 22 people on board included 10 crew and 12 passengers, some of whom were US and Canadian citizens. Emergency services rescued 15 people, including a one-year-old child.
A one-year-old English girl is also among 15 people rescued after the 56-meter (183-foot) sailboat went under water, according to Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera.
Local media reported that the yacht sank after facing a strong storm overnight. From Sunday night and into Monday morning, a pack of intense storms passed off the northern coast of Sicily. These may have brought sudden increases in wind as well as heavy rain.
