The famous Cuban-American actor Angel Salazar has passed away at the age of 68.
He was the character "Chi-Chi" in Scarface and Walberto in Carlito's way, but the roles were very similar: sidekick and right-hand man to Al Pacino's antagonistic characters in the two Brian De Palma films.
The actor died in his sleep while at his friends' house. The causes of death have not been made official, but the Hollywood newspaper TMZ reports that the actor had been suffering from heart problems for some time.
Salazar became internationally famous thanks to his participation in the 1983 film Scarface.
He would return to star with Al Pacino ten years later once again in the De Palma-directed Carlito's Way. Among other credits, Salazar starred alongside Tom Hanks in the film Punchline (1988). His last film was Brooklyn Premiere, directed by Brooklyn-born director Eric Spade Rivas.
