In the Hollywood film industry can boast as great and successful filmography as Martin Scorsese. In what appeared to be a busy year for the director, his 2025 is now suddenly empty, as Variety explains. Apparently, both the Jesus Christ and Sinatra biopics he was working on have been postponed indefinitely.
It was initially announced that Scorsese's intentions were to shoot the two films back-to-back, so both projects would be released within a short period of time. Now, however, the 81-year-old director is forced to change his schedule and seek new challenges.
The Sinatra biopic was scheduled to begin production next November. However, all the workers who were originally scheduled to take part in the shoot have been notified that the project has been canceled, at least for now, and that there is no return date, if ever.
Rumor has it that the singer's family, especially his daughter Tina Sinatra, does not like the direction the biopic will take, focusing on the artist's relationship with Ava Gardner, which led to his parents' divorce. Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence were said to be the two most likely to star in the film.
