The whole globe is going through a "black out" after the collapse of IT systems.
Networks and services have been affected across the globe after a software update provided by the company CrowdStrike reportedly caused widespread problems with computers running Windows. According to a live map provided by internet monitoring company Thousand Eyes, apps and networks have reported outages on all continents, according to Sky News.
The map shows a particularly high number of outages reported in Europe, the United States and Australia.
According to Google Trends, searches for the term 'blue screen' have increased globally. This refers to the blue screen and text displayed on affected computers. Searches for 'Windows' have also increased worldwide, referring to the operating systems affected by the problems.
While the data for today is still incomplete, it seems like interest in the term "Microsoft down" may be at an all-time high.
