Popular Italian rapper Shiva, whose real name is Andrea Arrigoni, has been sentenced to six and a half years in prison for the shooting that took place last year outside his recording studio in Settimo Milanese.
The artist was declared guilty by the court for the criminal offense of attempted murder and possession of a weapon without a permit. During the shooting that day, members of a rival music group led by Rondo Da Sosa were injured.
The public prosecutor Daniela Bartolucci asked for a 7-year prison sentence for Shiva, as the defense has always aimed for the declaration of innocence. According to the lawyers, the artist had actually reacted in terms of self-defense and for this reason they have decided to appeal the decision. In the courtyard of the record company "Milano Ovest", Shiva was attacked by two professional MMA fighters, 25-year-old Alessandro Maria Rossi and 30-year-old Walter Pugliesi.
The two had been tasked by Rondo da Sosa to take revenge for some insults Shiva had made online. Faced with two fighters, the rapper then pulled out a gun, injuring them in the leg.
Now he will have to be put behind bars and suffer the punishment that has been assigned to him.
