Serena Williams may not have been the only athlete to battle it out in the River Seine during the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics on Friday night.
The Paris 2024 Olympics have officially begun, but for the first time in history, the athletes were not paraded inside the host city's stadium, as they boarded boats and were sent along the Seine to greet spectators.
Part of the Olympic torch was also carried on the Seine, while Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal was on a boat with legend Carl Lewis.
However, both Lewis and Williams looked bad during certain stages of their journey. At one point, TV cameras caught Serena waving to the crowd before taking a deep breath as the boat passed under a bridge as she tried to regain her balance.
The boat then jolted again, causing Serena to momentarily lose her balance once more, while Lewis caught his hands on the other side and focused straight ahead in order to stop himself from swaying.
@iconstyle.al Moment that did not escape the cameras and became viral everywhere on the network! It's about Serena Williams who gets caught in the water at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. As he was on a speedboat waving to people, he felt bad. He almost lost his balance.
