The application file of the joint candidacy of Morocco, Portugal and Spain for the organization of the 2030 World Cup was officially submitted to the FIFA board, in an activity held today at the organization's premises in Paris.
Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA, received the file from the heads of delegations of the three federations involved: Fouzi Lekjaa (Morocco), Fernando Gomes (Portugal) and Álvaro Miguel (Spain).
With the ambition of organizing a tournament "for football, for the world, for the future", the candidacy is guided by the slogan "Yallavamos", which symbolizes a proactive effort to promote football worldwide and which is already visible in several actions in social networks.
For the first time in history, the men's World Cup will be played on two continents to mark the centenary of the event.
The candidacy file, which exhaustively details the vision and technical planning in terms of transport, accommodation and security, also presents the host cities and stadiums proposed by the three countries.
Infantino emphasized the value of the union of three countries on two continents:
"Your countries have already given a lot to football. These are countries with a great passion for the game, great organizational skills and a shared vision of what football should be and its values! It is fantastic that they have brought two continents together to achieve their dream of hosting the FIFA World Cup. "Football unites the world and this candidacy proves that".
The final decision on the organization of the 2030 World Cup will be taken at the FIFA Congress on December 11, 2024./ Super Sport
